The Sydney Derby or Sydney Sixers-Sydney Thunders Rivalry is a sports rivalry between the cricket teams of Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League (BBL). The both teams were created when the decision was made to move away from state representative teams to city-based teams for the domestic Twenty20 competition. The names of the were chosen as Sixers and Thunders by Cricket NSW.
